It has been a beautiful fall week with the leaves changing more and more everyday. I can’t believe that it’s the last week of October already. I am currently trying to watch all of the Halloween movies that I can (including Hocus Pocus right now). I always make sure to get Sling on the tv this time of year to get access to Freeform which has all of the great Halloween and Christmas movies.
The workweek was kind of quiet this week, though I am not complaining. Monday morning started off pretty cold, so I was bundling up, but the sunrise was very pretty and I always enjoy listening to one of my favorite podcasts, The Simple Sophisticate. It’s my favorite Monday morning ritual.
The weather in the afternoons have been very nice. I have been going out during lunch to go for a walk and to also get coffee sometimes.
I also stopped in to Anthropologie and was so happy that I did as they are currently starting to put their Christmas stuff out.
I especially loved the Christmas cups. The one thing that I probably don’t need anymore of is coffee cups, but I love holiday themed cups so I got one and will probably go back to get another to make a set.
I also found this really soft green sweater that was already on sale, but was also another 40% off of the sale price. I ended up getting it because it was so cozy and I loved the color.
I always enjoy going to Anthropologie sporadically, but now that they are getting their holiday items in I will probably be visiting a few times a week.
I normally try to bring my lunch to work with me (eating out everyday can get expensive!) But once a week I will sometimes take myself out to lunch instead. This week I went to Happy + Hale and got their falafel bowl which comes with shredded kale, warm lentils with a spicy cilantro sauce. It was very tasty. I also got their cold brew to go back to work with.
On Saturday we went over to Fred Fletcher Park and downtown for lunch, coffee and dessert. You can read about it here.
Sunday morning I got up early and went grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s. I absolutely love going to Trader Joe’s, it is one of my favorite places to grocery shop, they always have the most interesting and tasty things.
After Trader Joe’s we went over to the museum of art to visit the Frida Kahlo exhibit. I have been waiting for this exhibit for months and I was not disappointed. The artwork was beautiful and it was the perfect day to go since it was warm and raining. We had a great time walking around the gallery.
One tradition that we have is that we always get a Christmas ornament for the tree every time we either travel or do something fun or interesting. It is a tradition that we have had for over five years now. And wouldn’t you know it, they had a Christmas ornament for the Frida Kahlo exhibit.
And that was the week through my phone basically. This week will be fun as I only work Monday – Wednesday and then I will be off the rest of the week. We plan on going for a hike on Thursday, but Friday is still unplanned. I hope you have a great week full of fall fun and that you too are enjoying all of the Halloween movies too.
