I am that person who is snapping photos all throughout the week. Everything from my work life, home life, going out, delicious meals…you name it and I will probably snap a picture of it. I enjoy visually documenting what I get into each week and I enjoy visiting other people’s blogs who do the same. Now, I can appreciate a “staged” blog where some bloggers bring in props, set up a bunch of staged food and decoration, etc. It’s a fantasy, a pretty story to be told visually. However, I am a real girl living in the real world going about my day like most everyone else, so you’ll only see real pictures of things that happened throughout my week.
So go make yourself a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy the first (of many) weekly recaps of my daily life.
Now that fall is settling in, the sunrise comes later and later during the morning commutes. The sunrise is quite beautiful though. I guess at the beginning of November time will fall back and I won’t get these pretty sunrises, so I am enjoying while I can.
The weather has been great though, so during lunchtime after I eat I always like to put in my headphones and go walking around. I work in a part of town that has many restaurants and shops within walking distance, so there is never a shortage of things to visit, I especially love visiting the cute bookstore across the street.
Sometimes I will stop off at Starbucks to get an iced latte to take back with me to the office. Luckily it’s still warm enough for iced coffees.
I normally always try to pack my own lunch, but sometimes I will take myself out on Friday to lunch and this week I went to CO. It’s an Asian noodle and rice restaurant and since it was a little cool on Friday, I decided to get their pork ramen bowl. It had shredded pork, slices of pork belly, noodles, poached egg, scallions and bok choy. Very good, indeed!
Joseph and I recently celebrated our four year anniversary. To celebrate we first went to the movies and watched Joker. This movie was absolutely wonderful. It was very dark but the story and acting was beyond anything that I have seen in a long time from a movie. Afterwards we went out to eat at Sitti in downtown Raleigh. I got their lamb which came with sautéed green beans and a white truffle polenta. Delicious is all I can really say about this meal.
After dinner we walked around the corner to The Morning Times to get a coffee and sit outside. The weather was beautiful at a nice warm 75 degrees. Fall in Raleigh is something magical to behold.
After our coffee we walked over to Lucette Grace to get some macarons to enjoy at home. The walk was beautiful as the sun was starting to set and we also got to see the new Frida Kahlo building that was set up to celebrate the new art exhibit that is going to be in town soon.
Over the weekend I stopped off at Caribou Coffee to get my friend and I some large iced lattes and treats. She recently had a baby, so I wanted to visit and spoil her a little and the coffees, treats and conversations was exactly what she (and I) needed.
Come Sunday morning and it was rain, rain, rain. We had a tropical storm that settled over top of us overnight, but I didn’t mind. First of all, I love a rainy day (especially in autumn), and secondly we were in the middle of a draught, so all the rain was appreciated.
I did a Target run that morning to pick up a few things…basically a new rug, throw pillow and coffee. But who doesn’t love walking through Target? I really loved their new designer collaborations that they recently released, especially the Missoni pieces. How cute is this orange fuzzy pillow? This guy will be hanging out on my sofa this fall.
