Over the past few months I have been trying to reintroduce some routine into my life. Morning routines, beauty routines, evening routines etc. I’ve been more diligent about starting the day off right, and I’ve seen what an impact it makes on my mood and productivity. There are five things that are essential in my new morning routine, so I thought I would share them with you this morning.
1.) Cozy Slippers
In the winter especially it gets quite cold here in Raleigh and we have tiled bathroom floors as well as wood floors in the kitchen and living room. I would be lost without my cozy slippers keeping my feet nice and warm each morning. I got them recently at Marshall’s and I don’t know what I did before I had them. They have been on my feet constantly since I’ve bought them.
As I mentioned, it gets cold in the mornings here in Raleigh, so a cup of hot coffee in the morning is a must. I absolutely love the colder weather, but it definitely makes my need for coffee even stronger! I love the mornings when I take the time to prepare a perfectly frothed latte each morning.
3.) Caudalie Facial Spray
There is no need for me to go on about how my skin tends to get very dry in the fall/winter season. Between the cold air outside and forced heated air inside, it’s just the perfect combination for drying out my skin. I definitely keep it moisturized throughout the season and part of this routine involves the Caudalie facial spray. After I get out of the shower and brush my teeth I always spray a generous amount on my face. That is because after I brush my teeth I make the bed, dry my hair, get dressed and then moisturize my face with a cream. The spray helps my skin stay hydrated in between the shower and actually getting the moisturizer on my face. It is also infused with vitamins too and that’s another reason I like to use it.
4.) Sony Travel Speaker
It can be a struggle waking up in the morning and feeling energized, especially if you have to be up at 5:00 am. One way that I do start to get energized in the morning is by putting on music first thing. I have a great little Sony travel speaker that has great sound and I turn it on every morning and put on some upbeat music to get the day going. My favorite Pandora station for the morning is either Hotel Costes or Brunch Radio.
5.) Some Alone Time
Before the day gets going I really need some quiet alone time to myself. I’m not a big fan of meditation, but I do find that starting my day with some alone time while it’s quiet or with music and some coffee is the most gratifying way to start the day. It energizes me to have that time to not have to talk or interact with anyone first thing in the morning.
