I can hardly believe that is already November, but here we are! Here in Raleigh the leaves keep subtly changing more and more, I think I have mentioned here before that Raleigh doesn’t hit its foliage peak till the end of November. I only had to work three days last week and I will only be working three days this week, so it’s been a nice little break.
Before I was off of work I did manage to get back to Anthropologie to get one more Christmas mug to make a set. It’s always fun to get out of the office for a little bit, even if it’s just to walk around the shops on a rainy day.
On Wednesday (which felt like a Friday as it was my last day of work for the week) I also stopped off at Target after work to grab a few things that I needed. It was cool and rainy, so it was a nice day to wander around Target looking at their Christmas displays.
While I was at Target I got very lucky and found their designer collaboration designs on deep discount! I purchased the Missoni bag as well as a Missoni shirt and the Isaac Mizrahi striped turtleneck. I loved both of these tops and will probably wear the Missoni on Thanksgiving and the Mizrahi on Christmas…at least that’s the current plan.
Speaking of cute outfits, I have been wearing a lot of monochromatic looks lately, especially to work. I especially love the black on black look and sometimes I will top it off with a blazer. I think I will be wearing this look a lot this season.
On Thursday it was Halloween and it was an oddly warm day at 78 degrees, but luckily it was very cloudy as we went for a hike that morning which you can read about here. After we got home I basically took a shower and watched all the Halloween movies I could. I was able to get in Edward Sciccorhands, Scream, The Addams Family and The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. It was a relaxing little Friday at home.
Friday morning was a different story. When we woke up it was 40 degrees outside, the perfect (albeit cold) fall day. This was definitely a hot coffee stay in and snuggle under a blanket kind of day.
Come Saturday morning I was up early to get some things done. First on the agenda was going to get my hair colored and cut. I love visiting my hair stylist, not only is she super sweet and great at hair (as you can see below), but her boutique is adorable.
After my hair appointment I stopped off at Sola Coffee to get some coffee for me and Joseph as well as treats to surprise Joseph’s coworkers. Joseph had to work at the hospital on Saturday, so I thought it would be a nice treat for the other nurses. I got three 6-packs of mini doughnuts in the pumpkin spice, powdered sugar and espresso flavors. They were made fresh and still hot when I delivered them and they really enjoyed them.
After I delivered the coffee and doughnuts I went over to Marhsalls to get a picture frame. I guess that it’s no surprise that they too have their Christmas stuff coming out. Again, I never think it’s too early!
And when I got home I was ready to relax with an easy read and a cup of hot peppermint tea.
Today I did my usual grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s as well as a Target run to grab a few other things, nothing too special.
Other than that, I am just finishing the laundry and relaxing on this beautiful Sunday. I am very excited for the upcoming week as we will be traveling to Asheville on Friday to see the Biltmore Christmas lights and I can’t wait to share with you through Instagram and the blog about the experience.
