Here we are, the week of Thanksgiving! I love this time of year and all of the things that come with it. I have been preparing this week for Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas and am so excited that we are finally here.
We are also at the peak of fall colors this week and next, so the pictures I have snapped this week are simply gorgeous. I love all of the colors as they are perfect for Thanksgiving.
The work week went by pretty fast and is already starting to slow down due to the holiday. I only work one day next week, so I am looking forward to taking the time off to relax and visit with my sister. Mid-town Raleigh is already getting ready for Christmas as they had up their decorations and the big Christmas tree. I am looking forward to seeing it decorated and lit up next week.
But the fall colors are what I am especially loving in mid-town. Going for after lunch walks are just so beautiful right now. I will miss all of these views once the leaves are all gone.
I am also getting some beautiful sunrises on the way to work in the morning. Fall has a certain beautiful atmosphere about it that is not matched by any other season. The colors, cool air and the sunrises and sunsets are just so much more beautiful this time of year than any other.
The weather was so nice that I went and treated myself to lunch at chick-fil-a and a Starbucks on Wednesday. I am loving these warmer sunny days and am trying to enjoy them before it turns cold soon. And anyways, Starbucks always helps when you have afternoon conference calls.
I have been in a good workout routine lately too. I have been running after I get home from work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I can only run for a bout 30 minutes as it’s a race against time since it gets dark at 5:30, but the sunsets are stunning during the run.
I was so excited come Saturday morning as we went and got a Christmas tree first thing in the morning which you can read about here. We usually wait until the weekend of Thanksgiving to put up a tree, but Thanksgiving just come too late this year for me to wait that long.
After we picked up our tree I made a quick trip to the mall to go to Williams-Sonoma to grab a few things for Thanksgiving and to get their peppermint bark nespresso coffee pods. It was very rainy at this point, so we got lucky that it didn’t rain on us while we were getting our tree.
It was just so cool and rainy outside, so of course a coffee was necessary. Starbucks had a line out the door, but luckily Belk had no line, so I visited their coffee bar.
And then I just walked around looking at the Christmas decorations and some of my favorite stores.
Back at home that night I made us some peppermint mochas, put on some Christmas music and we decorated the tree.
