Hello and welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday and are at home relaxing. I took the past few days off as my sister and nephew were in town and I didn’t want to get pulled away for a long time. So go grab a cup of coffee (or a peppermint mocha) and let’s catch up from the past week.
I only had to work on Monday, so it was fun to be off for a few days for the holidays. My sister came in on Tuesday and we just went out to North Hills for lunch and a quick Target run and then relaxed at home since it was a long drive. On Wednesday we went downtown to visit a few fun spots. The trees were so beautiful as they were on their last week of colorful foliage. I am happy that I got to see it one last time for the year and take some pictures.
We went to Videri Chocolate Shop and had a lot of fun watching them make chocolate and trying free samples. They have the most cozy little cafe there too. Naturally I got a latte.
After our chocolate and coffee we made our way over to the museums. But I personally just loved being outside in this beautiful fall scene.
We visited the history museum as well as the natural history museum. We enjoyed visiting their South American live exhibit which had butterflies, birds and a sloth (although the sloth was in his box sleeping).
I love that everyone is all decorated for Christmas too.
It had been raining off and on all day, so the sunset that night was nothing short of beautiful and colorful.
Thursday was Thanksgiving and I was here for it! I would be cooking a meal for everyone and luckily cooked the turkey breast in the instant pot as it turned out so juicy and tender. Of course lots of coffee would be needed!
I also set the table very nice for the meal. I loved the plaid details and the bronze plate chargers. I was very pleased with how it turned out.
We did also go to the mall on Black Friday (as crazy as that sounds). Luckily I know a few tricks such as a little hidden parking area as well as how to get out of the parking area as quickly as possible. It was quite busy, but we went in the morning and so we beat the worst of the traffic. I did get a few Christmas gifts as the sales were really good this year.
Saturday was spent relaxing with peppermint mochas as well as wrapping some gifts. It is truly starting to look a lot like Christmas and I am loving it!
And then Joseph and I played a little game of Monopoly to end the night. It was a fun week and now I am looking forward to all of the Christmas things in the coming weeks. How was your Thanksgiving week?
