Another week gone, another week closer to Christmas. As we get closer to the holiday I feel a sense of excitement as well as sadness that it’ll be over so soon. But for now I am enjoying all of the festive things while they are still here including these delicious Starbucks coffees and large Christmas trees.
I will say that it is starting to feel like winter here in Raleigh. I was surprised Monday morning when my windshield was frosted and I had to wait for it to defrost before driving to work. But, at least I had one of my favorite podcasts to keep me company while I wait and luckily it was a Parisian and style inspired episode…is there any better combination?
But we did have a warmer day on Sunday which was nice. Joseph and I went over to the art museum and had a coffee and walk around the park. Now that we are past the foliage peak, all of the leaves are just falling in masse. It’s pretty, but I am indeed a little sad that it’s gone till next year.
Now that we have entered December I needed to get a new agenda so I walked over to Anthropologie who was having a 30% off sale and picked up a new one. Is there anything better than a new agenda and coffee?
I love going to the Starbucks this time of year. They are always so festive that you can’t help but be in the holiday mood, and with the smell of coffee hanging in the air too? It’s just the perfect combination.
I am trying hard to keep up with my running after work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and did a good job of it this week. I was able to run Monday and Wednesday, but it was raining on Friday so I wasn’t able to get out. It’s a little cold after work sometimes, but I just put on some layers and then I am usually good. I am also racing against time as it is usually dark by the time I get back home around 5:30, but as we get closer to the winter solstice we will start to get more daylight. Till then, I will try to keep up the running after work.
The weekend was here before I knew it. Saturday was first spent hanging out with one of my friends at my place. I built a fire in the fireplace and made us some peppermint mochas to enjoy as we caught up with each other.
After she left I finished wrapping gifts for Joseph and my coworkers. I put on some Christmas music, made a latte and enjoyed the process.
This morning I went to Trader Joe’s and did my weekly grocery shopping. I didn’t go last week as I just went to Harris Teeter, so I was happy to get back there and they have their Christmas goodies out! I do love Trader Joe’s and may need to do a Trader Joe’s haul blog post soon.
Tonight we are going to an annual Christmas party with our friends and I will also be doing a little Christmas get-together with my coworkers on Thursday. Tonight Joseph and I will watch a Christmas movie with some homemade hot chocolate, so I am looking forward to that too. Do you have any upcoming holiday plans for the week?
