It’s pretty common place to talk about capsule wardrobes for our everyday clothing and style needs, but I rarely see anything that pertains to sleepwear. It is a constant goal of mine to make for myself a beautiful life in all aspects, so that should also include what I am wearing at night and first thing in the morning. I have heard some people say that style and what you wear does not matter and I respectfully disagree with that statement. When I see a person who did not put any effort into their style I can often sense that they do not feel their best which then leads to letting all other aspects of their daily life go.
I understand that we tend to live for the big moments of life. We try to make things such as vacations, holidays, birthdays, etc. the best that they can be while neglecting to do the same for our everyday life. Upgrading our everyday life is just as important as trying to upgrade those special few and far between moments, maybe even more so. I choose to live life everyday in a beautiful way and the one place that really needed some attention was my sleepwear.
The truth is that I did not have any type of proper sleepwear to begin with. I had some tank tops that I would wear to bed and a couple of pairs of budget friendly pajama pants that I would slip on in the morning, but I did not have any quality pieces that made nighttime routines and weekend mornings of lounging feel beautiful and luxurious. So I knew that this was an area I wanted to focus on going in to the new year.
I was lucky to get a gift card for Soma this Christmas, so I went there right after the holidays to shop the sales and found some great luxurious pieces that I enjoyed. I tried on each piece and mixed and matched them to create a minimalist sleepwear wardrobe for myself.
I got three sleep tank tops and a pair of pants and a pair of shorts from Soma. All of the pieces go together, so I did not have to purchase a lot of things in order to come up with a week’s worth of sleepwear. I wear the tops for two nights and I switch back and forth between the pants and shorts depending on if the weather is cold or warm.
I now enjoy doing my nighttime routine as well as lounging in the morning with the new sleepwear that I got. The material is very soft, silky and breathable as well as not being constricting or hot at night. I wanted to keep to a mostly neutral color palette with the exception of the jade green top that I very much adore. Going to bed and waking up in the morning has been a very beautiful and satisfying experience since.
I also want to say that I adore this plush robe that I got for Christmas too. It rounds out my sleepwear capsule wardrobe as a piece that I can wrap up in on colder mornings to stay warm. I adore how the soft material feels on my skin when I wrap myself in it. And of course I love that it is a neutral soft color as it works with all of the sleepwear that I got at Soma.
