It is the last week of January and one more month closer to spring. I took a poll on Instagram to see if people still wanted more winter or if they were ready for spring too and surprisingly people wanted more winter. I am just ready to be able to go outside in warmer weather as well as enjoying longer days. Only one more month to get through!
Let’s talk about last week then, shall we? I went out to lunch with a friend on Monday since we were off of work for the holiday (she also works in a bank). After meeting up with her I went over to Starbucks to get a coffee and walked around the shopping plaza. I was getting a little cabin fever, so it was nice to be out. I went to Marshals and Ulta and walked around for a couple of hours. Marshals was giving me spring fever with all of their cute spring colored bags. I basically wanted to buy one of each.
I did get some skincare items from Ulta as they were having a buy one get one 50% off sale. I got the No. 7 anti-aging serum, Vichy Vitamin C oil and a foundation brush.
The workweek went by pretty fast, but it was so cold this week! It is not my favorite thing to get into the car and have the windows all frosted. I will not miss this at all when it warms up.
I will miss the pretty sunrises though. When we get more daylight I may be out too late to see the sunrises, but I do enjoy them first thing in the morning right now. It’s like a little beauty to start the day before being holed up in the office for the rest of the day.
Even though it was cold I did get out one day to go get an iced latte. I also got a little sneak peek of Starbuck’s spring cups. I thought the pastels were pretty and it was definitely giving me an 80’s vibes with the geometric shapes.
We are already starting to plan some travel for the year! So far we have a trip to Jacksonville, FL planned for March and we also have a trip to Boston, MA planned for May. We may not do any international traveling this year, but I am excited for all of the trips that we have planned so far. We also got concert tickets to see Coeur De Pirate while we are in Boston which will be a fun concert to attend.
On Saturday I went out to Clothes Mentor to look for some dark wash denim which I found as well as two cute tops and a DVF silk wrap dress. You can read all about it here.
I was feeling tired on Sunday, so instead of my usual trip to Trader Joe’s I decided to stay closer to home and to go grocery shopping at Harris Teeter. I got a coffee at Starbucks and did the shopping for the week. I was happy to see that they still had the mushroom truffle oil pizzas, they are so delicious and will be fun to have for dinner on Friday.
#sundaymood after loading up the groceries and getting ready to go home. This is why I am ready for spring…winter seems to really affect my energy. With the constant cold and lack of daylight I definitely tend to get a little bit of the winter blues this time of year.
Another good thing about going to Harris Teeter? Their sushi! I have tried Trader Joe’s, but it is really not that good. Harris Teeter on the other hand makes their sushi fresh in store, so I occasionally stop in to get some for lunch.
It was nice to just come home, unload the groceries and then sit down to relax with a sushi lunch and Gilmore Girls on Netflix.
March cannot get here fast enough for me. Not only the warm weather, time springing forward and my birthday…but also to go to Florida for a few days where it will be even warmer. Mid January through February is just a blah time of year for me and I am looking forward to warmer days and the flowers and trees blooming again.
