I can’t believe that it is only 19 days until the official start of spring, but I am ready for it. I thought for a moment there that Raleigh would go all winter with no snow this season, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we would indeed have one snow day on February 20th. My work luckily let us work from home that day since the snow was to start in the early afternoon, so here I was eagerly anticipating a snow day just like a kid again.
When the snow did finally come it was just as beautiful and peaceful as it always is and I was ready to get out in it.
Whenever there is a snow storm I want to bundle up and go for a walk. I love the sight of everything turning white and gray and I also love the sound of the snow falling. For me there is nothing more peaceful and wintery than freshly fallen snow.
Before the snow came we had actually had some pretty warm days, so the flowers and trees were already starting to bloom. Luckily they did not die off from the snow though.
My snow day winter mood!
After we got back from our walk I made cup of hot chocolate to enjoy as I watched the snow fall from the window. After all, what is a snow day without a hot chocolate?
The snow was still around the next morning and looking just as beautiful as the day before, but the warmer weather came in that afternoon and melted it all away. Such is what happens in Raleigh, whenever there is a snow day one must enjoy it because the snow will be gone in a day or two.
