I have been in Jacksonville, Florida now for two days and I am already now in a summer mood. The temperature has been in the 80’s with beautiful sunshine all day. We got in around 2:00 pm yesterday and checked into our Airbnb in the San Marco area and then it was off for an afternoon coffee! We went to Southern Grounds and enjoyed our coffee outside in the beautiful weather with the view of the palm trees swaying in the wind.
We had a great view of the city in the background too. I really enjoyed this little coffee date.
Later that afternoon we went out to San Marco to meet Joseph’s brother for a drink and dinner. San Marco is so cute and I need to visit one more time before we leave!
The sunset that night was nothing short of beautiful, especially watching it over the palm trees.
The next day (Friday) was my birthday! I knew I wanted to go to the beach to walk around and enjoy the ocean. I love the beach (like most people) and even though the water was a little cold it was still fun to get out and walk along the water and talk and enjoy being in the sunshine.
After our walk we went to Delicomb for some coffees. We have been here once before and really like it, so I was happy to come back for another visit.
And what’s a birthday without a little shopping fun? We went over to St. John’s Towne Center and did a little shopping before making our way back to the Airbnb for a little rest.
It’s hard to believe that I turn 36 this year, and what a crazy year it has already been. There are a few things that have been canceled that I wanted to attend like the Jacksonville River Arts Market and the Art in Bloom back in Raleigh, but I understand that safety must come first. I am excited for the upcoming year even though right now everything seems a little crazy, but I no less shall carry on and keep having my small adventures and living life the best that I can and hopefully everything will calm down in the near future.
