There is no denying that there are some amazing sales out there right now. Most places are at least 40% off right now if not more and so I have been taking advantage to replace and add a few new pieces to my wardrobe since they are on a deep discount right now. I have recently had a few shirts that I have had to get rid of because I have had them for years and they have had issues like little holes and discoloration from having them for so long.
Some of the online stores that I have bought from were Banana Republic, Abercrombie, J. Crew Factory and Nordstrom. I am putting together my spring/summer capsule wardrobe and I wanted to update it with some new pieces that I would enjoy wearing and some of them can even be worn for casual and work use. Below are the wardrobe pieces that I have purchased lately.
One thing I was looking for in particular was a short or cap sleeve poplin shirt to wear for the summer. Something that was a little loose and stylish and could be easily paired with many different types of bottoms. I found exactly what I was looking for at Abercrombie as their poplin shirts look quality, had great reviews and had a few different color options. I went with the light blue stripe and a black one. These two are great neutral pieces that will be easy to wear with a pair of jeans or shorts. I also picked up a v neck shirt too. You’ll see below that I have picked up a few v necks here and there because they are so versatile and always looks great as a layering piece.
Speaking of v neck shirts, I found a great deal over at Banana Republic for their basic v neck shirts. Just like with Abercrombie, I decided to go ahead and get two of them since they were on such a deep discount. I got the basic black and white because that is what I was really after. I have more neutral pieces in my closet so that I can mix and match them easily either by themselves or as layering pieces.
J. Crew Factory
Summer is just around the corner and I recently had to throw away a pair of black shorts because I have had them for 6 years and the seams were starting to come undone. Luckily my white shorts from that same time are still in good shape, so I only needed to replace the one black pair. I have looked in a few places for a good pair of shorts, but most places that I looked either had shorts that were too long or too short. I was looking for a 3 or 3.5 inch inseam and finally found a pair at J. Crew Factory. And since they were having 60% off of their sale items I also picked up a pair of cozy jeans, black jeans and a red v neck shirt.
And lastly there is the top that I bought from Nordstrom. I was looking around at their Madewell sale and found this cute floral top that I liked. I don’t do patterns too often, but I do like the occasional floral top to wear out on occasion. They also make good statement pieces for layering as well. When it comes to florals I am ver picky about what I like, so I really liked this one and hope it looks as good in person as it does online.
At this point I am really hoping that I like everything that I purchased. I usually only buy clothes in store because I like to be able to try them on, touch them, see what they really look like. However, we find ourselves in a situation that we are just not able to do that at the moment, so that is why I tried to stick with brands that I know and trust and have used before. Shipping is understandably taking longer than usual, but I am okay with that as these won’t really see the public for another few weeks I am sure. It was just a good opportunity to purchase a few things that I have been wanting since they are on such a good sale at the moment. I will link below all of the items that I purchased in case you see something that you like too. Have you been shopping at all and taking advantage of any sales?
