We were supposed to fly out to Boston this past Friday and stay until Monday, but as you can imagine we canceled the trip due to the current situation and instead decided to stay home and do a little staycation. We wanted to stay home and relax and enjoy some simple little pleasures, so on Thursday I went to store and picked up a bottle of French rosé and different types of cheeses. Here is what I ended up purchasing.
-L’intense French Bleu Cheese
-Limburge German Cheese
-Red Dragon Mustard & Ale Cheddar Cheese
-Petite Creme Bree Cheese
-Yorkshire Cheese with Blueberries
-Shallot & Chive Boursin Cheese
-And of course a bottle of red wine and rosé!
On Friday the day was sunny and warm and I was delighted to open a bottle of chilled rosé and try some new cheese. I accompanied the cheese with some small crackers, apples and honey. Since the day was so pleasant we had our little cheese board and wine on the back porch. We put on my Parisian Vibe playlist and enjoyed trying and rating the cheeses.
Since it was nearly 80 degrees outside we decided to just open the bottle of chilled rosé to enjoy with the cheese board. I found a bottle at the local grocery store on offer called Prophecy which is a rosé that was made in the south of France. We enjoyed the crisp and dry taste of the wine with the cheese, especially the stronger ones.
The cheese was so good and I loved all of the different types and flavors and pairing them with different things such crackers or apples or drizzling a little honey on them or not. It was très bon!
One little fun fact about me, my cheeks will turn pink when I drink wine! It’s kind of cute and saves me from having to use blush.
It was a fun weekend and a little French inspired which is always a good idea to me. We sat on the back porch for hours just enjoying the nice weather, wine and food. It was one of those weekends where time didn’t matter and just slipped away with the setting of the sun. We may not have made it to Boston, but we found a little bit of France instead.
Oh my! This looks yummy. Wine tasting and cheese are one my favorite things to relax and indulge in. I really love how you put all this together. Looks lovely Kate.
Thank you sweet friend! I love a good wine and cheese board too. It’s such an easy and simple pleasure to indulge in. Here’s hoping for more beautiful weather to do more wine and cheese boards!
I love this!! This board looks so delicious 🙂
