As someone who is a Francophile I will say that one of the things that I love that the French practice is elevating the everyday. This can be done through experiences, food, music, style, and the everyday things that we use. They take time to research and invest in quality and luxurious products that will heighten the joy of their everyday lives and I have been practicing this in my everyday life now for many years.
One of the things that I invest in to elevate my everyday experience is luxury French soaps. I know that purchasing luxury soaps can be a splurge, but it’s a pretty simple and inexpensive one compared to something like a designer handbag or even a meal out at fine dining restaurant. There is also the belief (which I share) that the closer something is to the body, the better quality it should be and what is closer to the body than the soap we rub right into it each day? There is something very exquisite and luxurious about using a quality French soap for everyday use. There are many benefits to using a good French milled soap versus others on the market as well. Like almost all the things in life, making it French makes it better.
Living a luxurious everyday life can be as simple as using a product that is high quality and made with meticulous care. French milled soaps are far better quality than most drugstore soaps here in America. Not only do they use all natural ingredients, but due to the way they are crafted the soap itself offers a distinctive richer and smoother lather experience that makes it a pleasure to use. The soap tends to be thicker and will last much longer than regular soaps. Each bar will be consistent in fragrance, color and texture. These soaps are created to remain as a long lasting hard soap and not turn into a gooey dissolved mess after being in water.
A good French soap is milled and therefore is much denser and more lathery. French milling a soap creates a bar that is smooth and luxurious. Milling is the process of extracting excess water from the soap. This not only creates a longer lasting product but also ensures that the ingredients are well blended and that the soap bar’s texture is smoother and more uniform. The French soap will also have less impurities and chemicals than conventional soaps.
Purchasing French soaps was one of the first things that I started doing when I was learning more about the French lifestyle. I started to be more discerning with what I brought into my life and no detail and no object was too small to pursue quality and enjoyment. I started to implement the quality over quantity mindset and knew that I would rather buy one quality luxurious bar of soap for $7 than a 5 pack of conventional drug store soap that was most likely full of chemicals and not good quality. To use this beautiful soap every morning is a small pleasure that starts my day off with feeling pampered as I feel it’s silky lather on my skin and smelling its sweet scent on me during and after the shower. It’s an amazing way to elevate the day first thing in the morning.
Hmm … I think I’d like to try using one of these soaps. They sound absolutely lovely! And the fact that they typically last longer than traditional, drug store soaps is a definite plus. I’ll have to find out which French companies ship to Canada and then place an order. Thanks for your recommendation!
You are welcome 🙂 Definitely try the Pre De Provence soaps, they are some of the best!
