We finally did it! We made it to Jacksonville, FL and got moved in to our cozy rental house. We rented a little bungalow style home that was built in the 1930’s in the San Marco area of Jacksonville. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and is just under 1,100 square feet. And I am truly in love with this place. It is so cozy and has the kind of character that you would expect from an updated little house like this. It is renovated to be modern yet has a lot of little charming elements throughout. It truly is a cozy little space.
We are within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and coffee shops. It’s an easy drive for me to get to Target and Trader Joe’s as well. The location is exactly what I wanted when we decided to move here. It only took us a day to get unpacked (the upside of being a bit minimalist) and the home just came together so nicely.
When you step through the door you are in the living/dining area and the windows just let in so much light.
The dining table is next to the large fireplace. I may get some big candles to put in that fireplace as this is a non-working fireplace (and in Florida, probably won’t be needed for a fire anyways).
The kitchen is right off of the dining room. It’s almost like an open floor plan except the kitchen is walled off a little which I actually like.
The bedroom is so light and airy with the neutral colors and just a small pop of blues and greens for accents. I have my desk and work area in there too. My desk is right next to the window which makes for a great view throughout the day.
The bedroom has a nice walk in closet that has plenty of room to store our wardrobe and accessories. And since the bedroom was smaller and the closet was so large, I decided to put our dresser in the closet and it worked out quite nicely.
And lastly, it’s time to show some of my favorite little details! These are the little things that I love about this place. I love the details of the fireplace and the crystal doorknobs throughout that makes this place so charming. There is something about these details that just makes a place feel so cozy and full of character.
I hope you enjoyed our cozy home tour. There are still some little areas that I am working on completing and will share those along the way. We also have a whole backyard that we would like to do something with as well. So many fun projects, so little time!
