It has been since the end of June since I last posted to the blog, and for good reason. For the past two months my husband and I have been in a transition of moving to Jacksonville, Florida. That means packing up, Joseph finding and starting a new job, moving 6 hours away from Raleigh, staying in an Airbnb for three weeks and then finally moving into our new rental house. It’s been exciting, tiring and needed to be diligently planned and executed, but here we are! We are moved in, Joseph is working, we are creating new routines and are now in our new home. Now that things are back to a slower pace, it is time for me get back to one of my favorite hobbies…blogging!
So let me catch you up with some of things that we have been into since moving. As I mentioned above, we stayed in Airbnb in Riverside when we first got to Jacksonville back in mid-August. Our permanent rental wouldn’t be ready until September 5th, so we made the most of it and explored Riverside. I especially loved walking by the water after work and enjoying the sunsets and the beautiful homes.
The Airbnb was a lovely place full of charm. It was a house that was built in the 1920’s. I especially loved having a coffee on the front porch sitting in the rocking chair.
The Cummer art museum and garden was a short walk from our Aribnb, so we did that one Saturday and it was beyond beautiful.
There was also a cute little restaurant close by to our airbnb called Nacho Taco. We would walk there on Friday’s after work to some to-go tacos to take back home.
I also visited the St. James Towne Center. I love that this is an outdoor mall, especially during Covid. I walked around and visited a few of my favorite stores.
And of course I have found so many coffee shops, the Trader Joe’s and Targets. I am a creature of habit!
And one of the main things that Florida is known for, nature. Between the flowers, palm trees, waterfronts and oceans…there is no shortage of nature and all of its beauty.
And now we are settled into our home, but I will do a home tour for a different blog post, but so far I am in love with our new place.
