September was a crazy month! We finally got to move into our new rental home, took time to get settled and have been exploring Jacksonville along the way. Here is a recap of what our month looked like.
After we got moved in I started to get into the routine of working from home. I set up my desk and tried to create some rituals that I have enjoyed throughout the workday to get me on track. So far I am loving what I have created.
I especially love my afternoon walks after lunch everyday. The flowers and all of the trees are just so beautiful. Sometimes I will even walk over to the San Marco shopping area and look around their little shops. Just depends on my time.
I also love that I am just a five minute walk away from a coffee shop. On occasion the husband and I will walk over there to get a coffee in the afternoon. I especially like to do this on Fridays as a fun way to end the work week.
We also went to a cute plant shop here in Jacksonville to pick out a couple of plants for the new home. The shop was so cute and we picked out two great plants for our plant shelf.
Sometimes after work we like to take a walk around sunset. The sunsets here in Jacksonville are so beautiful and I love when we get the chance to take a long walk to enjoy them.
And of course now that it is September, all of the Fall things are coming out! I saw this most recently at trader Joe’s and I may or may not have grabbed a few pumpkin spice flavored items.
I also love that the Trader Joe’s is just a straight shot down the road from our new home. And, that there is a Starbucks right next to it. My current routine is to do the grocery shopping, load them in the car and then pop into Starbucks to get an iced latte for the drive home. Pre-Covid I would have just gotten the coffee first to shop around with at TJ’s, but of course wearing a mask is very important, so for now this is what I do instead.
And now that we are getting closer to Fall, I stopped in to the Bath & Body Works and got some Fall scented candles for the house. Fall is my favorite time to buy candles and my favorite from B&BW is the Sweater Weather scent.
September 29th was National Coffee Day, so I decided that on my lunch break I would walk over to the Starbucks to get myself a coffee. I feel so fortunate to be within a 5 minute walk to not one, but two coffee shops as well as all kinds of shops and boutiques. The walk there was beautiful and with the weather being a little cooler, it truly did feel a little like Fall.
And that pretty much wraps up our month of September. After the move we of course wanted to take some time to relax and get settled into our new home. The month seemed to pass by so fast, but I am very much looking forward to October and all that it has to offer. I am wondering what the weather will be like and we have an upcoming trip next month too. I will miss the leaves starting to change colors as they did in Raleigh, but I am excited to see what Jacksonville has to offer!
After a July and August of travel and community, it was a September of birthdays and getting down to business! I ve never been someone who s looked forward to fall, but this year I found myself craving cooler temps, and the all-around cozy feeling this time of year brings. Let s recap!
